Chapter - Professorial Actions
[This is essentially a grammar trick to get the Prof's name at the start of a paragraph; might as well do some characterization while we're at it. The alternative would be to handle the pronouns better, which wouldn't be hard.]
To say prof shtick: say "Prof Doppelgänger [one of]yawns[or]rubs his eyes[or]sighs[or]searches his pockets for chocolate[or]grimaces[or]looks bored[or]looks around the room[or]stares intently[or]gets ready to lecture[or]scratches his head[or]blinks[or]stares into the distance[or]drums his fingers on his leg[or]looks at the ceiling for a moment[at random]. [run paragraph on]".
To stand the professor:
if Professor Doppelgänger is on the sturdy desk chair:
say "Prof Doppelgänger rises to his feet.[run paragraph on]";
silently try Professor Doppelgänger exiting;
otherwise:
say prof shtick.
To seat the professor:
if Professor Doppelgänger is on the sturdy desk chair:
say prof shtick;
otherwise:
silently try Professor Doppelgänger entering the sturdy desk chair;
if Professor Doppelgänger is on the sturdy desk chair:
say "Prof Doppelgänger sits. [run paragraph on]";
otherwise:
say "Prof Doppelgänger looks as though he'd like to sit down; he seems a bit cranky about not being able to."
To make the professor clear the whiteboard:
if the read text of the whiteboard is not "":
say "[run paragraph on]He wipes the board clean with his sleeve.[run paragraph on]";
now the read text of the whiteboard is "".
To make the professor write (T - a text): make the professor clear the whiteboard; say "He pulls a marker from his pocket and scribbles on the board for a moment:[command clarification break]"; now the read text of the whiteboard is T; silently try reading the whiteboard.
A picture is a kind of thing. It has a text called the caption.
